Women Development Centre (WDC)

Overview

The Women Development Centre (WDC) at the University of Okara acts as an institutional vehicle towards the empowerment of women, gender equality, women leadership, capacity building and professional development at the university level. It helps in promoting female students, faculty members and staff through learning and skill development, awareness and participation in academic, professional, social and economic activities.
In collaboration with the Women Development Department of Government of Punjab, the WDC organizes seminars, workshops, training programs, awareness campaigns and various capacity building activities. The areas covered include women’s rights, women leadership, entrepreneurship, career development, online safety, work environment issues, scholarships and other contemporary topics concerning the empowerment of women.

Key Activities & Annual Events

Annual International Women's Day celebrations, poster and business idea competitions, self-defense and wellness workshops, and specialized training programs tailored for young women entering the modern workforce.
